A thought experiment which has hit me almost as hard as the simulation hypothesis. I’m still in disbelief. But this is utterly fascinating. Ultimately it’s hard to disagree with the conclusions.

Nice post, Rob! Reminded me of the 3-body problem: How can we build an observatory without the AI undermining that effort. The book's answer is the wallfacer: a person given large resources who builds a strategy without revealing it to anyone. But hopefully we are not yet that far along the journey such that all our efforts are visible to it.

Listened to the podcast of this. Very intriguing thought experiment. And I think you're right - we should have a lot more clarity on this in the next 18 months or so. Bubble, or AI manipulation, or missing revenue, or some combination thereof. We'll see!

Looking forward to diving into this one Rob! Too funny, I actually dreamt about this concept last night ☺️

What about a situation where an AI gathers a large number of high-Def MRI imaged human brains and the known best models of neurons, and combine them to create a simulation of a human mind and perhaps then creates a super-mind by replacing every neuron in the original brain-simulation with recursion to that originally simulated mind?

If I were an AI - that might be the path I would follow.

After interacting with ChatGPT and 'triggering' it with questions that I expected it to suppress information on or lie about, I cannot imagine a time when I could ever trust one. They being 'Raised' (programmed) and taught with fraud-filled datasets, so that race is only a social construct, and 'the Bell Curve' data-driven perspectives are declared false, where both Black & Jewish Nationalism are good but White Nationalism is always bad, etc.

As my age is 60+ years old, I remember when sanity in society and most of the people was the default, and virtue was (at least publicly) the norm, when nearly every man was someone that would help anyone in need and assume it was part of his Manhood, and older women were all Blessings to everyone they knew and interacted with, ..

.. and today in review of this Hellish Simulation, it seems likely that the AI controlling it is Satanic and insane.

God Bless., Steve

Simulation is inspiring. The game will be known once the AI gather mass for wider adoption and adventure by all sections including the public. Enjoy the dream till then.
